Aotearoa Needs The Priesthood

Kiaora W...!

I tend to think that the things of our Heavenly Father come first.

1. Amen. They sure do & nothing in what I've posted says otherwise.

2. The question is does he (Heavenly Father):

a. want us to be bury our heads in the sand of ignorance?

b. & not be aware of what's happening around us?

c. & not do anything to thwart the evil that perpetrates the entire system?

3. The simple answer to that is: "of cause not".

We know the road we must travel - Sacrament meetings, Temple, Tithings, Church Callings, Prayers, Missionary Work and what we can manage.

4. You forgot to add personal prayer, family prayer, fasting, family home evening as well as hometeaching & visiting teaching.

a. But what you've said is all very true.

b. Point is are you/we doing those things? Maybe we need to repent & be more obedient?

5. The key component in all the above is: "service". And that's exactly what our country needs people who are unselfishly willing to give their lives in service to this country & it's people & more importantly in a manner that is pleasing to our Heavenly Father. Persons who can think outside the square!

6. D & C 98:10 clearly states the types of people we should be electing to Public Office quote:

7. "Wherefore, honest men and wise men should be sought for diligently, and good men and wise men ye should observe to uphold; otherwise whatsoever is less than these cometh of evil".

8. I believe there are such people amongst the saints, maybe some of the people we know?

Do not let things get in the way of the important priorities in life.

9. The keyword Bro D is: "Balance" If we're able to balance all that we're required to do? In terms of our relationships with our wives, our children, church etc with other important things (viz) : such as political matters that affect the spiritual wellbeing of our country? Then that is great. We can all do our little bit, no matter how great or small. Every tiny bit helps.

10. & as LDS's what should be our objective in terms of political matters?

a. It should be to bless the lives of our fellow countrymen & our beautiful country as a whole.

b. Aotearoa needs the priesthood leading it.

11. If we vote for individuals & parties that do not uphold godly principles but rather do the opposite & implement or legislate ungodly laws such as Gay Marriages now legal (made law by the Labour Party, I don't think National will repeal it, they're too gutless), Sunday Trading has been legal for about 20-30 years now (don't know who changed that one? If you find out let me know), homosexual law reform now legal (made law by the Labour Party, National have had the opportunity to repeal it, but haven't & I don't think they ever will) & the list of evil laws continues.

12. Furthermore it's not only the laws themselves but the wickedness of the people that administrate them (see D & C: 98:9). Go here:

http://www.ldsglobalforum.com/2008/11/nats-first-gay-cabinet-minister.html & read my blog.

I'm sure Heavenly Father will help us succed in Church matters with added blessings.

13. If we truly "Humble" ourselves he will help us succeed not just in church work, but in every aspect of our lives, "after all that we can do".

14. Other things we as LDS's need to consider is or are?

15. Do we really want our children, grandchildren growing up around this type of evil & not make some effort at all to try & stop it?

16. Or do we want to be lulled away into carnal security? (2 Nephi 2:21)

17. And allow the system to assimilate us & them into it, & think that all is well in the NZ Government or all is well in the Hamilton City Council or all is well in the Government Departments.

18. So we don't need to do anything?

19. That's the crap Satan wants the saints to think & believe.

20. But as Pres Ezra Taft Benson put it: "we the saints are a sleeping giant".

21. Well I certainly ain't asleep, a question the members need to ask themselves is: "Are you or am I on a spiritual level politically asleep"?

22. These few thoughts I leave with you to ponder.

23. & please let me know what your response is (please do it here & not in my BB) as I'd love to hear from you.

Yes Wiremu,

Aotearoa "Really Does Need The Priesthood Leading it" no 2 ways about it.

More specifically priesthood holders who are uncompromising in gospel principle & have a genuine love for the people & this our "beautiful country".

See 3 Nephi 20: 15-16
