According to Laboratory tests medium chain fatty acids (or MCFA's) found in coconut (organic virgin) oil, contain antiviral, antibacterial & antifungal properties, including caprylic acid, capric acid as well as the very potent lauric acid.

- is the best choice for a healthy alternative. The reason been is that it's completely saturated & no Trans Fatty Acid’s can be made from it & is therefore harmless. Furthermore it doesn't oxidize, even at 170ยบ Celsius.
